About Me
I'm Elliott Callahan. I'm a pre-medical student at UC Berkeley Extension, and I have a BA in Linguistics from UC Santa Cruz.
I maintain a personal blog called Sour Apples, where I blog about my life, and my political outlook. As a former Christian and political conservative, I try to bring a unique outlook to politics, and am usually very outspoken and passionate in my convictions. As it's been said, there is no zealot like a convert -- I now self identify as a libertarian socialist and an atheist.
In my spare time, I dabble in web design, art, songwriting, instrument construction and kitchen experimentation (i.e. cooking). I am also a language enthusiast. I speak French, Spanish, and basic Arabic, and I can write Korean, Cyrillic, Turkish, Farsi and the International Phonetic Alphabet. As a former ESL and English grammar instructor, I am interested in the history and grammar of English.
I currently reside in Oakland, CA.
